Eagles are  formidable birds of prey and tops the list of natural predators of Canada  geese, pigeons, seagulls, doves, etc, etc.,  Almost all birds are born with the fear of eagles and because of that, the use of eagles in bird nuisance control strategies is very effective. 

 

  • So, do eagles really scare nuisance birds like geese and pigeons?

  • YES

  • Absolutely !

 

The management of a high-profile species like Canada Geese requires special effort. If a hand-crafted. life-like eagle can scare this magnificent nuisance bird, then other nuisance birds such as pigeons should easily be controlled by using eagle based scaring strategies.

 

The attached video shows a flock of canada geese being scared from a golf course pond where the geese thought they were safe from all predators.

 

While eagles are particularly effective against Canada geese, they can also deter other bird species such as pigeons, starlings,sparrows, and seagulls. Our handcrafted eagles provide a versatile solution for various nuisance bird problems.

I'm a retired professional engineer and now a hobbyist who spends countless hours hand crafting life-like eagles that I have called Chase.

 

This all started seven years ago. I was enjoying a game of golf and dodging  geese as I walked the fairways of a local golf course and gingerly sidestepping the mess of poop left behind by these large nuisance birds.  Suddenly, without warning, an osprey swoops down on the flock of geese sending them scurrying in all directions. It was at that moment that the light bulb went off and I wondered if eagles could be used to scare nuisance birds, like geese and pigeons.

 Over the years I have investigated various ways my eagle, Chase, could be used to scare nuisance birds including drones and remote controlled boats. Some videos and images of my efforts are enclosed on this, About Me page.
